Pastor Lindsey Eklund began serving Monroe United Methodist Church in 2013. She is a military “brat” who has had the opportunity to live in many different places. From an early age, she developed a love and sense of compassion for others, and credits the exposure to many different cultures and ways of life for this character trait. These early years laid the foundation for the life and the ministry of a servant of God.
She is a graduate of William Smith College in Geneva, NY where she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Religious Studies. She is also a graduate of Duke Divinity School in Durham, NC where she earned a Masters of Divinity degree in 2001. She was ordained in 2005 and maintains membership in the North Carolina conference of the United Methodist Church. She considers it an honor and a privilege to serve in the Pacific Northwest and is learning to grow deep roots as she journeys alongside the people of Monroe in the walk of faith. Her passions include children’s ministry, singing, theatre, and travel. She is married to Scott, mother to A.J. and together they enjoy creating a space of hospitality and welcome in their home and in their lives.
